儘管郎朗有很高的知名度，也能帶來很好的票房，但是他的演出總是充滿爭議性。11/10他在卡內基廳與余隆指揮的上海交響樂團演出了拉赫曼尼諾夫的第二號鋼琴協奏曲。過了幾天紐約時報的樂評用很客氣的方法來給他的演出做了評論。

"Showmanship can be wonderful, and there is unquestionably a market for players who put a premium on it. But there is also an audience for musicians who honor composers’ aims. Mr. Lang may do both consistently some day, but he is not there yet."

我想這應該是相當中肯的說法。
